I'd agree with Big, J, since new year, 3 weeks, I thik there has only been a cuple f days where it hasn't gone below freezing which is unusual. I keep a note and will check soon  but most years we get 1 or 2 cold days in the UK, then it warms up for a week, then another couple of cold days. This year, about 3 weeks in a row

You know, I have read several informative articles about CoVid effects on firewood markets. An interesting thing is that the trade in wood products in general remained strong during 2020 and is expected to remain strong in the first half of 2021.

However, domestic market opportunities are still limited. I've read on forexrb.com that firewood sector will become more dependent on export markets over the whole year. I suppose that strict lockdowns won't make the overall situation on the market more sustainable.

It's obvious that lockdowns don't work (covid cases per day remained high with every lockdown) but our government tends to choose the worst options.

This winter's not been cold but it's been depressing. I've burnt more than usual because every time I look out of the window it's piss wet, inconveniently shitting it down with snow or I can see legions of classless fvcking cvnts banging pans in adulation for government hospitals (or whatever's popular and ghastly this week).

There's some market research for you.

Everybody who I speak to who sells logs says how busy they’ve been and had a big increase in sales. This coincides with people being home more and using the log burner that would normally only get wheeled out at weekends when it was Baltic or at Xmas. As log burners aren’t isn’t heat like central heating people often see them as a chore, with people at home more they are using them more as they have the time. When out working the log pixies are out in force more as they can wonder over the road and ask for the wood as they are working from home. Watched a guy load some quality willow into the back of an Audi Rs4 the other day[emoji15]
