Winter 20/21 - corona virus effects on firewood market?

From my small circle of people I know the logs are still selling well whereas normally by now sales would have dried up. I think initially the effect has been the looking at stove so have a fire, that is definitely a thing - gamble of course is what will happen if times get hard and less cash about then logs become a luxury.

This March our sales have trippled compared to normal but a lot of that is people stocking up so I suspect it will drop off suddenly.

Next winter could be interesting if the virus hasn't died down but we'll be stocking up to normal levels and seeing what happens. No point trying to guess this sort of thing.

I’ve done more this year than ever going to go at it hammer and tongs over the better weather and see how next year pans out. Fuel is likely to go up with th fall in the pound so locally people might light their fires more. Just a hunch no evidence to back it up but if it comes to the worst I can burn the bloody logs myself !

Quoted a job last week,
Client has had "her team"
Of guys doing her mature oak and beech trees.
On £300 a day total
Dropped, cut up with a 12" Saw and left at the bottom of a 70-100m steep muddy incline.
Now she thinks she's going to make a fortune selling all these logs....
blacklisted.
?????

Bit short sighted Saul, should have least waited unto see if she could/did make a fortune flogging them for loads of money. You never know what works and now may have missed a marvellous money maker yourself!
