Time For A New Knife

I have a Victorinox 'Soldier' in a pouch on my harness. €45 I think it was. Serrated locking blade, and the tip is slightly blunt, so less danger of accidental injury. Philips on the back, big strong flathead/cap lifter/prybar and a saw. Saw is for last ditch backup. Never know. Also the cap lifter/prybar locks as well. + Tweezers etc. Tethered to a hole in the bottom of the pouch with thin shock cord that packs in the pouch with the knife and unravels on deployment. Also one hand opening blade, very important.15819790421358608805989212167750.thumb.jpg.5daee62c44018409b382055a36085cc9.jpg

I do like a good knife chat.
Made a few and handled a bunch now, first is a custom cut damascus commission, friends husbands 60th pressie, made the sheath too.

my fav Opinal second with Olive wood handle, love these cheapish, holds a good edge and can be made shaving sharp.

Finally my latest project, mini blade etched black. just need to find time to finish the handle!

Since 1867 the mercator has been made pretty much the same way

Thin profile so you can carry it in your back pocket of your chainsaw trousers and sit on it and not know its there

Great quality blade, lock, and easy to handle

My daughter will be the 5th generation of my family to own one

The daughters boyfriend brought me back a rather nice Buck knife from the States.

I also got a "found" Mercator as above.

But both knives are lock-blades, and I understood it was illegal to carry  any lockblade in the UK.

Unless specifically work related.

By that I mean I always carry a penknife in my hip pocket, a tidy aluminium scaled Swiss Army "Officer" model I think it is.

So would I "get away" with the lock-blade if stopped by a zelous PSNI Officier when out and about?
