Ifor trailer behind a MEWP?

Can you tow an Ifor type trailer behind an agricultural tractor?For agricultural/forestry activities. Legally not physically is my question.

I would say so- if the hitch and lighting / signing is correct . Physically , how well will that trailer stand up to Forestry use !! K

Agricultural / forestry tractor not a problem as long as trailer is legal lights, overrun brakes, and so on and you stick to mass gross for trailer . 

Behind mewp depends how it's tax insured if agricultural machine no.

Is the MEWP rated to tow on the weight plate / V5c / by the manufacturer?

What is it registered as?

What is the actual real use?

What licence are you using?

On road or off?

Can a MEWP be a tractor or is it an agricultural machine?

Sorry,  I have no idea why I wrote MEWP in the title, must have been thinking about two things at once (dangerous!). Nothing to do with a MEWP, its was just about a tractor! Cheers for the replies.

Presuming you hold a cat B+E licence then yes you can drive a tractor and tow a trailer. Only thing I’ve heard is that IW trailers have a preferred hitch height, so it may be worth looking to see how high the tractor hitch is, otherwise you’re likely to cause damage to the tyres, more so if it’s twin axle. Loads of farmers round here use nothing but their tractors to tow an IW stock trailer to the market each week. Just hook it up as you would normally to any other vehicle.

Don't need +E to tow with tractor or agricultural machine.
If you think the max loaded weight of a ifor is normally 3.5t that's less than most agricultural trailers empty so no problems. Hardest thing I've found is getting hitch hight low enough to keep it level and remembering where the extension for the light leed is so itl reach to plug in.

These work well on tractors pulling normal trailers, sorts out the height issue.

OK until you try and back up, needs a chain from top link down to tow bar.
