Banking Cash...

Pay cash into personal account then transfer to business has always worked for me, everything gets invoiced so it has to go through the books.

As a reminder, this is a public forum and all those suggesting and admitting to hiding away cash from the prying eyes of HMRC, you have just openly admitted to fraudulent practices.

I'd also happily drown a VAT inspector in a horse trough if that helps.

You old fuckers had it easy- take all the cash you want, self cert mortgage!! Now here in the South I have to declare (and pay higher rate tax) to afford a half decent house.

It wasn't only easy it was a right laugh as well, scraping ice off the inside of windows in the winter before getting in a tin bath for a wash, then move two hundred miles from home because there was no work in our area, we did laugh.

Nothing wrong with cash payments and how much you declare does not need to be every penny you earn for gods sake,Just use common sense man ?Say you do a take down and then sell on the processed logs (firewood) for cash why would you declare that ?? ,You have been paid to take down a tree which is invoiced through the books,Timber/logs is a bonus as customer could have wanted for own use,Your own time cutting up and sell for cash.Young family so school dinners.uniforms/trips out which all require cash at some point.
