Yeah mine just gone because of remap bill £3,500!!! Will never never ever remap a defender again sat with landrover for over a week new turbo and injectors as the remap is fine but all the other parts where standard so couldnt cope with extra bhp!!!

Ours had a brand new turbo on purchasing it (with receipts)

I had my defender re-mapped years ago, it’s done well over 100k miles on the remap. I think the thing is with some of the cheaper systems it’s that they just turn up the pressure in the common rail. This will affect the spray pattern and burning character of the fuel and possibly cause problems. A proper re-map will open the injector for a fraction longer without altering the spray pattern.  I have a similar system on my valtra too...

So... returning the Kubota engine to it's 35hp isn't at all impractical and is also well within it's origins design spec so...

Why not?

Makes perfect sense it seems.

But...are the pulley and belt dimensions the same? Is the wheel going to turn faster or just be more difficult to slow down due to more power behind it?

The 1505 engine used for years by other suppliers is run faster to get the HP. But doing so makes them 'dirty'. Turn down the rpm cleans them up for emissions yet still leaves a torque little unit. Yes, pulleys and belts need to be changed and, I think there may be a hydraulic change needed but I'm not 100% sure. The caveat involved means no warranty, no comeback. Remember the fine that VW and possibly others are facing?

Not that difficult, and nothing to stop you removing all the dpf either, as I know someone who did just that.

What we are doing in this country with emissions will make no difference when China are building more coal fired power stations than ever. They along with usa seem exempt from such legislation

Dan was it on a new Greenmech EVO 165? regardless of the stated BHP output i would be more interested to see the torque curve of the old V1505 versus the new V1505.  The infeed capabilities are more important to me than outright power.  Julian was here yesserday and had one behind his Ranger so i had a look at it briefly,  the EVO 'looks and feels' really well put together,  i really liked it.  The EVO weighs in at just over 1 ton so i guess they are classed as a heavy duty machine.    Really classy looking bit of kit.
