Made a mantle for my new wood burner

Lovely! What dimensions are they? What did you use to round off the edges?

All around 4ft I’ve sold loads off beams just seem to sell them every now and then that’s why I call them beer money or kid’s money ect

cool thread they all look nice. what sort of distance is there from the top of the stove to the under side of the mantel??? it think i may have cocked mine up with it being too close ( its not actualy in yet though)

i put the mantle in at just over 500mm from the woodburner

Just measured mine, top of burner to lowest point of beam is 330mm.
The chimney cover plate is 420mm from top of burner.

this was a market i would have loved to have cracked but i never seemed to be able to do so.

 

only made one in the end.

 

i've still got some of the timber i bought for them too. nice 6x6" non pith oak but i can still use them for table legs.
