I like the look, but it would need walls, and probably planning permission, so is likely to be difficult...

Having said that, what sort of cost might something like your photo be?

Probs not as much as you think if you can mill some of the timber yourself and don’t go too crazy with the spec etc

I'm not a planning expert, but......

"Do I need planning permission for a marquee in my garden ?

One question I am often asked is ‘do I need planning permission for a marquee in my garden ?’ The short answer to this is NO, as long as the marquee is not up for any longer than 28 days. If you need the marquee to up for longer than 28 days then you will need some kind of planning permission."

What sort of area/size are you looking at?
A self build as above is your best bet, and clad in wood all round would make it inkeeping with the surroundings, would breath nicely and keep your internal moisture down a lot. To pretty much get rid of nearly all your internal moisture then you would need to put a base down really, majority moisture would be created from the ground.
Mate of mine has the tent like garage you showed in your original post, he gets slight internal condensation like you would in a tent etc but he has it in a pretty sheltered spot in his back garden, and its on a solid base.

Thanks all, some options to think about.

EUR500 for that carport doesn't seem bad, though I imagine it would need to be assembled.

I have no access to timber to mill, unfortunately. Don't really have the time (or skill!) to build something myself, I fear.

And I think a polytunnel might be different to a marquee for planning. Counts as a temporary structure? No one's complained yet anyway!

I'd struggle to get a lorry body or container into the paddock, and think my neighbours would be more likely to complain - my polytunnel is quite discreet... But a solid walled structure would last longer and probably be more useful. I always need more outbuildings!

Hmm.
