Extra long hedge trimmer

I have the telescopic stihl. Which is about 4 metres so if you hold it at head height you’ll be around 6 metres of cutting height. Easy enough to use, trimmed a few in similar tight spots no bother. They have changed the latest version so it won’t accept the hedge trimmer head hence I suggest the echo. The echo is probably lighter as it’s a smaller engine and also has a bolt extension for even more reach. Personally I couldn’t even contemplate some of my hedge jobs without a telescopic trimmer. Brilliant bits of kit. Get the adjustable angle head.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, yes, tried the ladder approach, literally not enough width to move around, it is so tight.
The Echo telescopic with additional extension suggestion may be worth pursuing though.
I've always exclusively used Stihl hedge trimmers so know nothing about the Echo, are they up to the job?
Have an echo pas 280 split shaft. Good tool. Loads of power and less effort required to start than the km130 no reliability issues so far and bags of power.
Have heard of one or two people not liking the handle on the new echo telescopic pole pruners. It does look a little clumsy.

So this combi   - PAS-2620ES with 2 extensions & attachment?

The PAS-2620ES Multi-tool system has a 25.4cc heavy duty ECHO engine connected to a half length driveshaft. It...

Works out about £700  with 2 quid not sure would reach 6 metre with 2 extensions probably need 3?

Or the pole chainsaw pruner with  the trimmer attachment?

Why not suggest the owner that you reduce hedge height as its always going to be a  hassle cutting a hedge that size & it must be shading his polytunnels?

Aleast at 20m it  isn't that very long but  how wide is hedge top?

Had a similar job behind some sheds so couldn't foot ladder  hedge was over 4 metres wide at top ?. Climbed up inside hedge with silky and used a wolf garten pole with lopper attachment to reach top of sides that couldn't reach from bottom didn't leave a tidy finish.. & got impaled & scratched on dead leylandi inside hedge.

Similar, mine is the older model, brought from the states, think the pas265 is the largest available here.. could be wrong, a business near where I live regularly imports new and secondhand landscaping equipment from over the water and they have the odd bargain!

Pole chainsaw pruner with hedgetrimmer attachment would probably suit the op better.

With 3 extensions you are going to bend shaft, I run a tanaka tbc230 with 1 extension and main tube shaft gets a slight bend after a lot of use.

Anyone have any bright ideas how I can tackle a 6mtr high conifer hedge that requires a short back & sides, trouble is that access to the front face is awkward because of close proximity to two bloody poly tunnels more or less running the whole length of the hedge (approx. 20mts) there is literally just enough space to stand between hedge and poly tunnels.
This hedge is in a large rear garden with no access for any type of tele handler to lift me over the top of the poly tunnels and apart from erecting a scaffold working platform over the poly tunnels I cant think of another way of doing it, apart from an extra long hedge trimmer, is there such a thing available?

This situation is made somewhat more awkward by the fact that this is the home of a commercial client of mine that I get quite a bit of work from so it wont go down too well if I try and get out of it by saying I'm too busy, etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Old style pole saw and put the hedge cutter head on, works a treat
