The pics I saw looked as though they are draining it - nothing coming over the spillway any more.

Where are they draining it to, (I spent quite a bit of time around there when I had a narrowboat) is it going into the peak forest canal, or maybe the river Goyt?

Dunno, whatever watercourse they blocked to create it I’d imagine.

Hedges and banks removed for the advantage of intensive agri industry, trees clear felled, vast swathes of ‘efficient’ mono crops - all gleefully delivered by government subsidy and hard done by farmers claiming to be the poor down trodden guardians of the countryside.
