They are indeed great pics of great trees!

 

So much more interesting to look at I think, and gotta be better for the wildlife with all the nooks and crannies to hide in.:thumbup:

Rackham was saying the other day, that it was far cheaper to import coal down from Newcastle for Londons needs (including the cost of sea haulage) than it was to service that need with the charcoal from the Great woods around London.

 

This may have contirbuted to the demise of the pollard woods here in the south.

That makes some sense, and explains why I have a disdain for Northerners (Cue dean!:lol:)

 

Ive been thinking about ways of reviving the product demand for pollard produce, got a few ideas now, just a case of a few more and putting it all down on paper:thumbup1:
