The house has been in this families ownership for a few generations, the current guy used to play there as a child so its history could easily be put down on paper, next time it will be done. made a few suggestions to increasing its care, a mulch layer etc, lets see next time round what we can "introduce"

 

Update on that beech-

 

The origional top cut was made pre 1970- with the main scaffolds having been re pollarded in 1978, its been done again creating a third order structure sometime in the last 20 years and last year I reduced it by about 30%. Im going to find out more but thus far this is as far as ive gotten.:001_cool:

then coming up just for our mestterh, a few of the best hornbeam pollards this fair land has to offer, they are of course from the hatfield forest, home of the ancient hornbeam pollards of excelance:001_cool:
