Back releife and musle flexablity

Hi Guys 

 

I was a tree surgeon but I stopped doing it for  year now because of my back. I was getting to the point were it was unbearable. I did a lot of yoga and seeing the experts but well there wasn't a lot of help out there! I am wanting to know what some of you guys do to help recue the pain in your lower back (well all over the back)?

 

With a lot of hard work the pain is going but I might go back into tree surgery and wasn't wanting it to get any worse.

I’ve had a sore back and pain since I was 14, I’m 44 in 2 months time.

  You just live with it, I used to train a lot but now I don’t.

  Good physio every 2 weeks and painkillers twice a day.

  Your sore because your over straining and over using.

  Get stronger, do less.

At 6ft 4 I have a lot of back to get sore, which it does. Find a good physio and learn what movements to avoid, over reaching, twisting, lifting off one side of your body etc etc.
As everybody's body is different it's impossible to know what will work best until you try for your self.. acupuncture may be worth a try as may be a visit to a pain specialist. Steroid or even botox injections can ease muscle inflammation around nerves.
I f*cked my back around 15 years of age doing thankless labour for sweet f a. Then continued to damage it for ten more years before I sought out proper help. Its damage mitigation at this stage. Plenty of heat patches and rubs like tiger balm help in colder weather. It hurts, you have to earn, you live with it. It sucks.

I used to get twinges in my back, didn't stop me working until once it did, 2days off work. Yoga didn’t help much 

 

13 months ago I started at the gym, 2-3 times a week, concentrating on the core (+an all round workout)

 

for 13 months I haven’t had even a twinge 

 

i believe tree work overworks some muscles, under works others, we’re not as tough as we think we are

I was! Then overdid it and hurt tendons in my elbows. Cubital tunnel syndrome I believe. That being said, my back is still a lot better than it was before my 6-8 months back at the gym. Lost most of the muscle I regained, and really need to get back to it but struggle for time and motivation.
