Ok... Stupid question....

I have recently purchased a (1.6t Lift / 2.4t) hand winch with a 30m wire rope & hook... It has nothing to wind the rope around for storage and transportation when not in use... I was therefore wondering what people have found to be the best solution for easy storage and transportation?

I had seen that option, but did think it was a good option but a bit bulky...

Mines rolled into an old type mini tyre, bit smaller and not as bulky as you think, it’s a good way to store it

Store my Tirfor cables in old motorbike front tyres. Found the local bike shop is more than pleased to let me have some of their old tyres.

Ditto, mate of mine changes his own motorbike tyres so very happy to donate. Roll it across the ground and cable springs itself in to the tyre, so much easier than wrapping on to a drum where the cable is trying to spring off the whole time.

Use both tyre and frame, both have there advantages I like frame as when cable gets muddy and needs washing just roll up and wash with hose or pressure wash.

If it's the right frame it can be wound quicker then tyre.
