Thanks matty, it's got the fruity slight pineapple smell. I was fairly sure it was WRC but someone thought the wood looked different that just added some doubt.

The white sap wood and it’s not uncommon to have a bit of rot in the middle is the give away!
It is really a pungent smell , well chipping it anyway! Felled one yesterday and had forgot how ringing wet they are coming on this time of year but not sticky which is a change for a conifer coming on sap .
Shame the client wanted it all ringed up for firewood.

Just as an aside, wrc is the coldest burning wood (when green) I have experienced.

I have burned large piles on felling jobs and you could almost sit on top of it even when it’s roaring away.

When fresh, wrc is 65-70% water, so not surprising.

Yes and it pops and crackles a lot when dry, burns quick because of the low dry density.

I like it and have access to lots of WRC slabwood, I wish there were a branch logger available locally to save all the cross cutting.
