Left 2 6m Beech monoliths standing as wildlife habitats in Aberdeen as could not be arsed dragging them home, they were about 5ft across. One had rot in it the other sound.

I'm glad you're able to shift it. My customers always wanted elm and oak and second to that, ash.

currently have two staircases and a kitchen in beech this week without trying. we will be handling 400 to 600 tons of beech this year as we'll use it in our workshop, the timbers good be a shame to waste

I can ask the estate thats trying to flog that 10m long Oak Log you spotted on Gumtree if you like? Im sure I could get you some Beech cheap?

Or if you're after something a bit more seasoned I have a few slabs thats been air drying for a couple of years. 2" and 3".

Cheers Andy that would be appreciated, I'd want to start from scratch and mill the whole log. Top slab will be a decent lump for sure. Gonna copy a one that's in a local butchers.

What sizes do you like again? Just milled a stem approx 18 to 22" diameter onto 2" boards.
