Okay, so i got to use a 572 the other day in some scabby horrible beech and oak around 20" which was the ideal test material for me!! it wasnt quite broken in yet but you could feel the power was always there when you needed it compared to the 462 which has a slight lull when introduced to some wood at full revs but carries on through- its kind of hard to explain!!

Its well built and the rear handle didn't come apart in my hands!!  air filtration is miles better than the stihl, ive owned a 462 for 9 months now and you can notice the weight difference. Overall i think its a more all round saw compared to the 462 which has super fast pickup which is good for snedding but is more suited for softwood.

But how is it compared to Terry's ported 372?

So with the bigger lower end of the 572. Do you think the 59? will be using that with bigger bore.

Guy hinted to running one years back in PNW Canada.  At the time we were thinking he may have been talking about the 572 though.

Somewhere in here. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/husqvarna/new-70cc-huasqvarna-572/

The 59* has a similar but not the same bottom end

So I picked up a 572 today. Haven't put it to work yet but first impressions: little monster.

I was just looking on the husky site and comparing more of the numbers to the 372 though... And while the power and torque are significantly greater on the 5, the 3 has better figures for fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. I was under the impression that companies were going to great lengths to keep emissions down while keeping saws powerful, which required all this electronic gadgetry. I feel like you could get the same out of a 372 if you said to hell with emissions laws, let's make her rip... And you could work on it yourself if need be.

Perhaps I'm totally wrong though.

Anyway, got a big partially failed sycamore to dismantle next week and looking forward to getting it out.

I've also just got a 572 and it's good so far, seems to cut slightly faster than my 576 and feels more like a 560 with a bigger bar (24inch) than a big saw but in a good way. :)

On a side note the new husqvarna chain seems to perform better when cutting with the grain than other chains but that might just be me.

I wasn't sure you had Steve ! I'm  happy to run it like that all the time and have found that I'm using it more than I would have expected in it's present form bearing in mind the ported saws I have. The clutch cover it came with is a mag-alloy type with the captive nuts but I've since changed to the 390 XP HD type that came with the wrap kit, nothing wrong with the original. When I first got mine it was during the real hot weather and no starting problems and the air filter set up is one of the best around I think and I see they ( Husqvarna) have done the same with the mark 2 550 so I expect to see that on the re vamped 562 ?
Any timeline on the 562xp mark two Dave??

Jason Egan is porting the 462 and 572 for loggers. The 572 seems alittle ahead with its long stroke it has.   Sound real good.  I want 1 of each still to try.

But I keep buying used ? so keep spending the saw $ up.

2 more today. Jonsered 2163 and a 490. P+C in both like new still.
