File Holders and Handles

Hi,

I have a cheapo kit for 3/8" low profile chain, but now I need to be able to sharpen 0.325 as well.  What sort of file holder do you guys recommend, and is there any merit in some of the fancy file handles with a sort of collet to tighten up on the file?   I would like something that makes it easy to change the file.

Get yourself 4 inches of willow or hazel or the like about an inch and a quarter diameter.

 

Push the sharp end of the file in, instant file holder.

 

Plus you can grow your hair in dreads, wear festival pants and take up spoon whittling as you can legitimately claim to do “woodcraft”

You can even have different holes for different file sizes.

Just spend less than £20 on a standard Stihl filing kit in a canvas roll.

I just never got into the habit of buying handles, though I do have a couple somewhere.

The caveman handle has some appeal, we have plenty of Willow due to be cut shortly.  However I once gave myself a nasty gash when the handle came off a file and I jabbed my wrist into the tang.

Stihl, if you're right handed, just edges it for me.

 

The grain in the Husqvarna handles suits lefties just a tad better.

does both teeth in 1 go.

wouldnt change it for any other tool.
