I don’t have any first hand knowledge of those old 230s, but was once told by someone well up on his Timberwolfs to avoid them as they have some sort of problematic issue with the drive belt setup.

I don't know anything about the old tw230 but we have a couple of big old tws. One of which we have had to retire because we could not get a pretty simple part..

If your thinking of investing in an older tracked timberwolf get a 190, we run a four year old one and its been fantastic, never let me down other than the usual wear parts, its been run nearly every working day for the last four years. Don’t think about an old 230 they’re unreliable.

Yes but at a cost and down time.. We came to the conclusion the repairs needed were not economically viable. One machine needed a hydraulic motor which tw no longer stocked and could not give us a supplier.. The other needed a lot of work to the chassis. We decided to make one good machine and keep the other for spares.

If you ever need hydraulic motors speak to flowfit. They’ll match just about anything (motors aren’t expensive to be honest, less than £150 a lot of the time).

We managed to source the original maker and it was over £1000 and 28 days to build..
