A bit of bark will give it away - very much smoother than English. K

Pretty sure its English, the whole wood was planted 150+ years ago id say going by the diameter of the biggest trees.

The top sections showed no signs of a tinge. I'll have a look for the bark when I felled it, but pretty sure its robur.

The top image looks slighty warm due to the wb on the camera

Awesome stuff!!

How much of the wood you mill are you selling?

Appreciate the love of milling and having now experienced the thrill I could understand wanting to mill for life without selling any of the wood, just to look at it. But living on planet earth and nothing comes for free. Just wondering....

I would like to start getting some return for the milling, it could at least help to upgrade my mill and saw.

Milling at the weekend and went through metal. Lost 2 or 3 teeth along a 7ft double-ended set up. Is it a worry, should I bother replacing or just crack on and resharpen what's left.

Got a big job on Saturday and keen to make sure its good to go. Obviously a second chain would be best but ....thoughts?😁

Cheers
