No, there’s a few members of parliament who see the .5 as a danger to the police and public and feel that licensing air weapons would stop them being abused just the anti gun lobby

Cos, kitchen knifes on street, drunk assholes with speeding cars or ebay drones pose absolutely no public safety issue whatsoever..ho ho ho ! K

In short my mate has a few acres of land on an old nursery that he has converted to a dog training facility , dog swimming , dog agility etc etc you know the kinda thing .  He is walking the fields he owns with his air rifle ( a .177 I think , non FAC )  . Rabbit  control . All of a sudden 3 X long dogs come barreling past chasing deer . They go through the hedge onto his neighbors land and shortly return to his . There is NO foot path any where on this land . A woman appears and clearly they are her dogs . He asks her to get her dogs under control and then leave his property .  10 mins later an armed response unit turns up , blue lights everywhere . He is arrested and held in the custody suit of Chichester police station . So far with out charge .  I would guess that she has accused him of threatening to shoot the dogs or worse   but I know him and that is not his thing . He loves dogs . Its his lively hood after all . What do you guys think ?

So what was the outcome? I presume your mate is out? Did they follow through on a charge or drop it after hearing both sides of the dispute?

I would guess it's very tricky to charge someone when there's only two people with differing stories, so hopefully the matter will be dropped.

ASAP mention to him not to accept a caution over the matter (without legal advice) as I understand that it remains on file, and is taken as an admission of guilt. This can have some serious repercussions for shotgun and FAC renewals, future employment, insurance, emigrating and passport applications.

A farmer i knew had his sheep worried and attacked regular! He tried going to the police etc for help but they were no help. In the end he tied the dead sheep to the swing gate on the public footpath which went through his land. This sparked a huge kick off from local everyday nature walkers, to dog walkers, to sight seeing walkers etc. It eventually made it to the papers if i remember rightly (i’ll try find the article) which is where he could finally have his say on what happens when irresponsible dog owners do as they please. Things quietened down after that.
