It seems France does not have the franchise on abusing trees.
 
Here are some Breton examples.
The giant shredded oak is a puzzle given the attractive property.
 
The twin oaks where pruned by a lazy ex-pat tree guy who has since hung up his spurs thankfully.
 According to the client, both trees died within 2 years.

A common one I used to see in Brittany,
Was like the first photo but they would leave a tiny twig at the top.
So very French.

A mate near Chichester posted this on FB tonight.

 He has been following my outraged posts on tree vandalism and has become indignant himself at the sight of shoite tree work.
