Yew For Turning

I have some freshly cut Yew for sale if there is a market for it. Various sizes, welly in the picture for size comparison. Is it worth it or firewood only?

Good for tool handles, I'm told. Might be a bit small and short for longbows, unfortunately

In my experience wood turners will love this.  They prefer dry but often will buy green if cheap.  You could find out if there is a wood turning club nearby.  If there is you could maybe go to one of their meetings.

...not big enough for bowls or platters but spindles and pen blanks yes.

I be tried selling to wood turners all I get is, 1 no were to store it, 2 can not cut it, 3 its not dry, 4 I will take it off you hands.

Trouble is......... it grows on trees.

The local Bodgers group might just be interested. They turn green wood on foot-driven pole lathes.

Wood turners will buy it. But can be very tight.
Will sell on eBay
