A man walking his dog told a man in the pub who told me that @Mark Bolam and @Al Cormack have been seen testing out new methods of hedge trimming.

We now only really use the workwear 3 leg adjustable tripod ladders from browns ladders for hedging. They can be used on very uneven terrain, are light, are quick to adjust and very stable, now have the 6, 8, 12 and 14foot version. Make hedgecutting much more efficient, we used to use heavy a frame ladders, but nearly always had to have someone foot them as four legs no where near as stable, and not adjustable. Could not recommend enough - also great for formative pruning or very light reductions on young trees that are too small to climb!

Henchman platform.

4 legs extendable by 70cm

I have an extension kit for it too for extra height but rarely used.

Feeling safe vastly improves productivity.

I have just recently bought new steps to cut hedges they are Werner 75055 they raise up 1 rung as you need or front short long back used them for about 3 weeks cutting hedges now and are a great bit of kit. There's a lot of clips on you tube about them as well.
