Good job! Does it affect the grain in any way, as in does it weaken the wood by penetrating in to the grain or does it just literally track the surface?

Hi Lazarus, Cool as F##k that stock looks ace and shouldn’t weaken it as it looks quite a light burn not to deep one , it’s defo one of my favourite fractles

The depth of the burn can vary, but only a mm or two at deepest, might try some resin inlay next time. I must admit it looks deeper in the above images.

Yes Webley & Scott bolt action, such a simple gun - it does a treat for small vermin, only chambered for 2-1/2" so all smoke and noise compared to the more modern 3" magnum .410`s but does it for me.....
