i love my 357 xpg personally i cant see any differance between that saw and a 361 apart from price.... but i like the 357 personaly think the 361 is a very over rated saw the ones i have used have found no differance in power in comparison if not i think they are worse but then i just maybe got a very good 357!

 

Yep they are only 0.2 hp more than a 357 and with the tanks full and bar and chain fitted are so near the same weight that a kitchen scales cant tell.

 

But If Husky still made the 262XP we would never have these debates:thumbup:

ran a couple of 262's great saws ...fastest saws i have ever run i used to out cut a 3120 double cutting ........but i could only get a year out of them before they siezed and that was cleaning the filter daily and all other maintenance....would still rn one now though if i could get my hands on one!

Must just come down to personal taste.

 

I have had a 357xpg from new and have never liked it.

 

Bought it to supplement/replace a 262xp. It just never felt right in the balance and and power delivery.

 

Ironically the 357 became the 'backup saw' to the saw it was supposed to replace.

 

The 262 is still in use and the 357 is languishing on a shelf nowadays.

 

I like the feel and balance of the 361.

I'm now in the process of saw replacement on my mid-range saws. I was thinking along the lines of the 361, but i tried out the 357xpg the other day, and everything in my head has turned orange!! So now i might just get the 346xp and the 357....or I might stick with the Stihls coz I like them. I dunno:001_rolleyes:

Having same dilemma at the moment Andy.

 

My 036 is still running good but getting old now, and i think the 360 will let me down in the not too distant future.

 

I also like the look of the 361, even would get the husky if theres not much between them and therefore save a couple of quid.

 

But then theres also the thought of waiting for the 362 if mine will last till then:confused1:

Not sure if anyone will know, but how does the 357 compare on its AV to the 361?

i rate the 361 better than the 357, I replaced my 361 with a 357 and miss it every day..... the 357 has given me constant greif.

 

Personally though Id just get a 372, tested build, only a tad heavyer and a lot more power.

I have spoken to lots of dealers and not ONE sells more huskys than Stihl.

 

They all tell me that they sell far,far more Stihl's than Husky's.

 

So either the majority of cutters are fools, or Stilh offer a better all round package.

Two 361s at work and the exhausts have fallen off not sure if its cos they are american, we dont have a choice just get given crappy american stihls (no offence america). They just dont seem as good even the 200t have a different weird exhaust only good thing plenty or power when the exhausts fell off lol
