Interesting kit

Telecom guy turned this morning with one of these:

He drills into the telephone pole at different points, the resistance on the drill tells how solid or rotten it is.

Our pole was a fail.

Wondered if any arb types use these?

Called a resistograph.  Commonly used in arb.  Not used one yet but do have access to one so it’s only a matter of time

Have a look through David Humphries threads, there’s lots showing the read outs and differences between sound and fungal compromised wood. Great tool, but v expensive

Did he test how solid slab was with it before buying

Like the all weather cover the BT guy has on his, will have to talk the boss into getting one for ours
