2 Large Oak trees to fell & sell ?

Hi

We have 2 very large oak trees which need felling & stumps ground out. It looks like they are both recently deceased. 

Its a 70 Acre farm with good road access to the site and no problem getting machinery close to the trees.

We are in Cambs PE289AS. We're looking to have them felled and any useable Oak will be for sale.

 

Looking on this forum for someone to fell them both & grind out the stumps, remove branches from site & offer us a decent price for the trunks etc.

 

I'll try & put up some pictures & sizes later.

Normally (at least here) the trees have to be felled in order to assess their quality before you can think about price.

 

Not saying they’re not worth money, but they could have shake or be rotten inside, which  makes them firewood.

 If I was local and they could be straight felled I'd do it for nothing if I could plank the useable timber and leave the rest.

 

The chances of you getting a tree removed, cleaned up and ground out for the firewood are pretty much zero I'm afraid.

I'd also like to understand if they are worth anything?

The circumference of them are 4.3mts and 4.2mts.

First Tree looks rotten ,it’s also alive still .. just the cavity alone would warrant a bat survey ....imo also it could be retained as a monolith and continue growing if carefully done and damage minimised to the existing live foliage m.
The second one looks a nice stick ! Problem is this though that buyers of timber will rarely come out for one tree, so I doubt you would get many offers also the grinding of the stumps or stump would be more than you would get for the timber... unless they see some tiger oak or brown oak on the felled stem ... that could also just as easily be hollow ! And lastly they look like they are on a fence line ?? No saw mill will want them !
