Hi guys

Im looking for a bit of advise regarding Chainsaw models: My Stihl MS 261 has packed in (crank shaft has gone).

And I'm looking for a suitable and similar spec replacement. I have been recommended 2 different brands: An ECHO CS4510- 15" and a Husqvarna 555 2018 model. I'm also looking to get a quote for a Stihl MS 261 and MS 362. I would love opinions on these models or if you would recommend any others?

I work in a forest near Brecon felling all sizes of trees for firewood and occasional pole length for Pontrilas sawmills. My budget is around £500.00

Any info would be much appreciated

did your 261 die because of needle bearing failure?

the echo  CS-501SX has a better spec than the echo you mentioned, they are nice saws, the antivibes arnt so good and dont last. and the chain brake mecanism is a bit weak, but the engines seem super relablie.

had a go with a husky 550 and to be honest it felt a bit nicer than the above echo but it is an auto tune saw and some people seem to have trouble with them, although we have a 560xp auto tune and that has been fine

550 or 560, if I only had one saw it would be a 560👍
