How much wood do I have??

If I have 100 cubic metres of hardwood logs and they loose 6000kgs in weight, as they season, how many cubic meters of logs do I now have?

Is this a trick question? 

It should be the same but in reality you can get up to 10% shrinkage although 6000kgs on that amount wouldn't be a massive difference I wouldn't think.

if you have 100cube of logs it matters not a bit how much weight they lose you will still have 100cube of logs, albeit 6000kg lighter

Obvious really, - the ton of lead , as there'll be 30 pikeys hanging off it by the time you get to the weighbridge.

Just for reference here's some fresh cut and some at 15% moisture. The ash in the second picture hadn't been down more than 6 months when we cut it which makes it worse and the first picture is beech just to show how much we fill the boxes before anyone says.;)

So your 1.7 cubic metres (that volume is a guess) of wet logs turned into 1.6 cubic metres of dry logs?

Yes, 1.8 went to 1.7, maybe slightly less. That's about the worst I've ever had so had to top some up again, it's normally only a very slight drop.
