177 or 22 doesn’t matter.

PCP more accurate, I always use bipod etc.

You just have to match a pellet to the gun.

Whatever you get, buy multi sample pellets from the net and find out which pellet suits your rifle. There can be a massive difference in accuracy.

I’ve had an HW100 before, brilliant Now got a Daystate (ridiculously good) and an Firearms Cert 30ft/lb BSA, all .22. Rabbits at 50m

I find my springer air rifle a very tricky gun to shoot accurately, the zero changes a fair bit if it's held or rested for example. Although it's near the legal limit I wouldn't want to shoot a rabbit or squirrel past about 25m.

A PCP air rifle is much easier to shoot but then it's more expensive and you need a method of filling it with air.

Personally I wouldn't wish to shoot a 22LR out to 150 yards either as the drop is something like 10". Cost wise I think you're more likely to spend £4+ for 50, not expensive but the costs are rising all the time.

Holmbush Guns, near Horsham, 38gr Remingtons. They don't have the knockdown power of 42gr Winchester, which are about 4p a go I think, but are fine for practise, crows out in the field etc.

Winchester 42gr are currently £5.80 in my local farm shop and I thought they were reasonable.

rounds are 4 quid for 200, you can then hit out to 150 yards comfortably

£4 for 50 maybe and 100 yards is good shooting, 150 yards isn't "comfortably". Not saying it can't be done but it would take an awful lot of practice to do it regularly. 75 yards is much more realistic.
