Wet weather wear.

Don't use any detergent or soap with goretex, it will disolve the water repellant chemicals. You're even supposed to clean out the detergent tray on the machine so there is no residue. I do my gortex and ventile in the machine with tech wash and then reproof while they're still wet, tumble dry is supposed to "set"the wax proofer but we don't have one, leaving them by the rayburn is second best.:001_smile:

ive found the army gear to be the best, dutch army trousers are really hard wearing with plenty of movement. british army jacket has big map pocket, ideal for jobsheet, sneaky bacon roll etc, and hood that will fit over husky helmet if you want it to! had apacket of rizlas in breast pocket and they stayed dry.

There is no waterproof jacket that will keep you dry when climbing. The water running down your neck and off the hitch down your arms. I wear waterproof trousers so my chainsaw trousers dont get heavy with the wet and try not to have to much clothing underneath the jacket so I dont sweat. Just keep moving so you keep warm.

Have to say I'm pretty lazy in the rain in that I tend to wear waterproofs over my chainsaw trousers and just change my jacket and top a couple of times as they get wet.... It's if my trousers get soggy and heavy that starts making me feel miserable :001_huh:

This might sound a bit daft but if you really want to stay dry you could buy a cheep water proof dry cag used for kayaking. They have latex wrist and neck seals so no water getting in there!

They wont restrict movement, if you can paddle free style in them climbing a tree should be fine,
