theres an article in the Bournemouth echo, on there website about a local girl jo hedger who is a world champion climber. ive never met her but have heard of her accomplishments. I get notifications from the echo on my facebook about news and this article came up. the thing is the negative comments from ignorant people on the article I find annoying. and would appreciate it if someone could post it on here, or comment on the article to give the girl the credit she deserves! and maybe put those cyber bullies in their place! passing on the knowledge, from father, to son. or in my case to daughter. recently became a single parent to my little girl for reasons i wont bore you with. but she has just turned three years old and have been teaching her about trees. it started of by warning her about nettles and brambles until on a walk she pointed out a holly tree. since then i have been teaching her "trees" she now knows at least a dozen trees and asks me what a tree is called if she doesnt know. havent seen this enthusiasm for years from someone getting into the trade. ie traniee, maybe cause of her age. made me so proud at a wedding recently when i pointed at a hedge thirty yards away and said whats that? and she turned round and said "laurel" anyone else got an arborist in the making?

did north and south island over 3 weeks about 6 years ago. queenstown was unbelievable! did a hot air balloon ride in christchurch which was worth every penny. if you get a chance, do it. you will never forget it.

my old 026 died on me again so went to shop to by a new saw and was going to get a 346. especially after using one with a 18 inch bar and heard what you can do with them spud. but fell for the latest model with her sleak lines and rev boost!(560) but then after purchase read a comment i think you made?(dont quoate me)! about all singing and dancing fancy new stuff cant really be repaired more replaced, like cars these days. which makes me think i should have got 346 and given it to you. but thats not what im getting at. what is the best saw ever? in your eyes?

so even after a bad expierence with a 262 you still got one. regardless of that, would you class it as the best "cutting saw"?

just read thread on husky 262 with problems. which made me think the best cutting saw i have ever used was a 262, and would happily spend money on the old girl to put that smile on my face. which got me thinking about the pros and cons of saws i have used over the years. the best sounding etc. for me im not a stihl man or husky, both have made saws that i like. for example as a lad i remember the weight and grunt of a sachs dolmar, and you cant beat the sound of an old 020av and a technique to start them by taking the fuel cap of and pouring fuel down the choke switch. still got a stihl 076 that i dont use but cant bear to part with. still got origanal bar and must take nearly a litre of fuel per tank! or the first saw i bought new, 254xp learnt to sharpen properly on that bad boy! love a 044 but my 371 when warm just takes of. had a 560xp for a few months and it is a good saw, sounds angry cuts well,but a pain to start hot. which brings me back to the 262. for me, nothing cuts like a 262. but in my eyes cause it cut the best, does that make it the best saw ever? how would you class the best saw ever? cutting? sound? looks? price? discuss.

had the same problem, except for the poor starting. ended up being a hole in fuel lines

surely you never stand under a saw being pulled up? thats just dangerous! obviously its worth double checking the cap before use.

had the same problem, as a groundie re-fueling for climber, regardless of over-filling, return to starting point and apply more pressure to the centre circle. this always works for me.

Another firm a few years back. we had all met up in a pub at xmas time somany groups out enjoying the festive season. ordered the first round at bar when 1 guy from another group who had obviously been there all day, poured a pint over another guys head. this ended with a big punch up with us making a quick exit and a free round! papers next said it was the local constabularys xmas do!

christmas is well and truly over. worked with a firm this week who i used to be employed with and asked how the works do went after i left. bearing in mind they always got messy. some are still talked about years later! so this year after i left, 1 individual got himself in such a state no taxi would pick him up and ventured off into the unknown got himself lost on some housing estate (were they hadnt grited)! proceeded to fall over and injure himself many times. and ended up knocking on some poor souls door at god know o'clock, who gave him a lift home! this was a tame year, got many worse storys than this, will post some more if this takes off. but want to hear your storys! xmas do's, summer do's, friday after work! lets here it!!!
