Oregon speedcut

Evening all. Anyone using the Oregon speedcut narrow kerf?

I have a MS261, reading the hype about speedcut it seems like an aluminium centre and lower cutting force would make it ideal for an 18" climbing saw, nice and light.

The only thread I could find was someone a while ago saying it cut like a banana and Oregon were going to take it back...

That was me, Oregon wouldn’t replace it because I used it but the dealer did because it was absolutely shagged from the word go.

On to the second chain on that bar now and im pretty happy with it. As above, easily bent though and nowhere near as solid as the Sugi narrow kerf bar I have running 15”. Would’ve got the sugi for the 18 too in hindsight.
The 550’s pull both 18 and 15 well but the 15 is pretty much relentless whereas the 18 will bog without trying too hard.
Certainly faster than standard kerf though.

I run my 550xp’s on Sugi Hara narrow kerf bars from Rob D, they are excellent. I bought the 95 TXL Speedcut and Husqvarna SP33G X-Cut to compare, the Speedcut was great out of the box but went downhill from there, weird random hard cutters when sharpening and the steel seemed really soft on others, lost its edge quickly too (I tried more than one chain) the Husqvarna chain is better in every way.
