Some solid advice on here.
Ring every tree surgeon in your county.
You'll get a few trials at least, but you get to build contacts. They will probably call you back in a few weeks when people emerge from hibernation and suddenly every home owner needs a tree or hedge cutting.

There is plenty of work out there , just see how many tree surgeons / outfits there are ...getting a share of the market is one challenge  , doing it for fair / decent  financial reward is another challenge again  !!  loads and loads of Leylandiis out there that get bigger every year ....
