I made my fist jig myself but on the VB I wanted a custom job so treated myself. Using the carbide cutter as opposed to a scraper makes a big difference in finish, as long as the cutter is dead on the center they come out a treat. The resin orbs need a lot of hand finishing but timber just needs a quick clean up of the ends. I use a vacuum chuck but two cup chucks between centers will do the job, just keep rotating the mounting point a trimming away the shadows and it will be perfect.

There is loads of You tube stuff to watch

I guess to make £30 It seems a lot but with all the time, equipment and time involved it is a realistic price. This one took me a weekend so that's about £3 hour..... Lol I won't be retiring anytime soon. Would rather trade for interesting timbers than sell for beer tokens...

£30 is too cheap i think , £50 and upwards. All you talented hand crafts people don’t charge the real value of your work.

There is a guy who makes similar and his are $220 each and upwards. I think I may run an auction and see what people are prepared to go to, be interesting.
