What makes a forestry helmet a forestry helmet and a climbing helmet a climbing helmet?

The easiest way is the chin strap. But climbing helmets are like rock climbing helmets with side impact protection.

I think one is designed to take impacts from falling debris whilst the climbing lid is designed if you slip and swing and take an impact.
I wore one for years in the woods but it appears to be something you can get pulled up on .. even wearing a climbing lid on the ground doing tree work and unfortunately the way things are going you might as well stick to the rules.

Matty ive tried most ground helmets and none have ticked all the boxes.

Husky technical is probably the best ive used for comfort but i dont use em that often to know about longevity or how robust they are mate.

on the husky technical's  i just take all the visor stuff off and just use a visor of a standard husky which clips into the ears defender mounts. think you have to replace the technical ears defenders of as well.

I have sort of tried that tonight ,well put normal sordins in the technical holders if it does not work I will do what you said.
Thing is the muffs look is identical to normal sordins and the sordins fit I just can’t work out why out of three helmets every single one has issues with the metal strips popping out.

I prefer the regular husky helmets, tried the technical but didn’t really like it, might try out switching the visor and ear defenders as suggested and see how I like it...
