At the last announcement on the radio there are 20+ roads closed around here this morning, I went down to have a look at the river (Nith) last night and it's higher than I've ever seen it before.

We're used to it bursting it's banks most years here, but this is a biggy!!

I feel for all the places being flooded out today :(

It is mad here, we are ok where we are. One of the houses that we viewed about 5 years ago when we moved here is now flooded. The river Kent is huge, going to walk the dogs soon and will check it out.

Maybe a bit insensitive here, and hope everybodys ok. Hows access problems on the roads, thinking of heading up to paddle a couple rivers that you can only do in spate. Don't want to add to the chaos though.......

I live 5 miles from Cockermouth, and the situation is really bad. The emergency services are flat out dealing with everything, If you did come up to have fun! in the rivers you would probably get stoned by the locals, people have lost every thing for the second time, emotions are running very high here please stay put and pray that no more lives are lost in the next few days (more rain expected)
