They both have the same power source, an engine and the same cutting mechanism, cutters.

The differences are in build quality and performance, which the two market leading makes you have selected is really very subjective, IMO.

Although Stihl is by far the better saw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If ur a farmer:biggrin::biggrin:

The last decent Sthil I had was a 028 which I had for years, the one that replaced it was an MS290 and that was numb as anything, heavy and gutless, also had an ms180 for a while but again to gutless for the size, been running huskies for a few years now currently a 345xp and a 350 the 350's a nice handy saw although my all time favourite saw was a husky 372xp with a 24" bar used to pick that over the others regardless of what I was doing, til some scumbag nicked it, only stihl I've got now is my pole pruner and thats only because its got a bigger engine and longer reach than the husky version

i dont use husky because the choke starter thing is rubbish, taking the bar and chain off is also annoying imo. powerwise there isnt much in them but i feel husky are flimsy.

must admit i prefer the older choke style, although at least the off switch works in the right direction on a husky :thumbup1:
