Apart from you I don't think anyone is really interested in this very boring debate about who called who a troll. I can only assume it was the beer making you write last night...

 

Obviously we disagree about immigration. Maybe to get the debate a bit more interesting. You could explain why you think immigration is good for native Brits/ Europeans? The BBC/ Channel 4 obviously think immigration is good, however they seem exceptionally poor at explaining why. 

 

I think immigration is bad as it reduces living standards for Brits ie it lowers wages means more congestion and puts pressure on council housing etc.  Is there some positive to immigration that compensates for these disadvantages? 

 

Just remember, the trajectory of European politics is towards the extreme right wing. Unless you want hardcore right wingers getting into power your side of the argument really have to start presenting some decent arguments.... So no more boring posts

Why are you lot bothering over this? We have two diverse views and neither are ever going to see the others and be converted! Both arguments may have some reasonable points in their arguments but neither will concede.

 

Views like this are swayed by peoples age, what they have experienced in life, how travelled they are and on their friends and acquaintances etc, I am guessing Matelot has seen a few more years than some of the other posters on this thread!

 

There will never be resolution on this one so why carry on, you may as well argue about religion!

I bother for one simple reason.

 

Matelot has a view which he believes if he repeats it often enough, it will become the norm.

 

I don't want to live in a world where it is accepted that there is a supreme race.

 

 

 

In every culture there are crap people and fantastic people.

 

I believe you should be judged on what you can do, not the colour of your skin, or you hair type, or your religion or your gender, or if you take it up the arse.

 

 

 

I am not interested at all in changing Matelots opinion.  He is welcome to it, and I would defend his right to hold it. 

 

I just choose to point out that his agenda is not what most members of this forum are interested in

Because neither really believes they’ll convince the other, it’s us reading that is the target. Which is fair enough I suppose.

I have no interest in convincing Matelot that my view on immigration is 'correct'.  I would be surprised in anyone was interested in my views on immigration tbh.

 

 

From the first post I have tried to point out that he is pumping his agenda on the wrong forum.

 

I don't think many posters on here are very interested in his views.

But it's does feel a bit like banging your head against a wall ( as I suspect it feels the same for people with opposing views..... )

For me the benefits of immigration are obvious....throughout my life a good mix of my friends have been from all over the world and I have always enjoyed their friendship and found the insight into differing cultures interesting....feel like I have gained lot from having people from all over the shop living around me.


For me closing our borders to try and kerb terrorism will not be an effective way of dealing with it.....america has had its share of terror attacks and has a very strong border control.....basically I resent the implication that all immigrants are terrorists....

So why do you continually respond to me if you're not interested in what I post?

 

My hobby is forestry. If you look at enough of my posts you'll see that I have commented a fair amount on forestry... However I'm also concerned (like many others) about the way Europe is heading...

 

There's plenty threads on Arbtalk that I'm not interested in, however I don't keep posting on them complaining that they're not interesting... It's as If you're secretly fascinated by what I post. If you're not interested in what I post you won't respond to this post  However we all know you will

There is no debate.

 

To have a debate you need to answer peoples questions.

 

You respond to a question with a statement.  That is not an answer.
