Yes, a joint it a whole different matter.  Though whilst on the subject it seems a lot of people in this industry like to partake in that also.  Is it just me noticing it as im involved in the industry?  Are other industries the same?

As long as it's in their own time what's the problem? You wouldn't criticise someone that sinks 3/4 pints after work every night and that's much worse? I bet some of the most successful people in the world smoke joints after work

You'd be surprised how many people are "puffin' the 'erb". don't reckon it's unique to tree work.

When I worked on the roads lots of the lads smoked d'erb. That's changed now due to random drug testing. I guess many of you lads work for small companies that don't do drug tests, so smoking a joint isn't going to get you the sack.

Yeah heard that the likes of balfour beattie etc are doing some drug testing.

Reckon it's all fair enough really, spose it would be good if they can differentiate between having a tooot on a Friday night and being real high at work....don't think they differentiate ( hope I'm wrong). Blah blah think we covered this a while back?

When I was on my bike in London I'd go past a dozen vans a day and you'd smell it. Worryingly they'd be driving and it would be before 8am. I don't think its industry specifc but I did notice a lot of scaffolding lorries and painter and decorators.

If it stays in their own time its not a problem, but it doesn't always.  I have witnessed lads having a crafty spliff at lunch times which is totally unacceptable
