Assuming that your blokes are on the books, do you do a short day or pay the extra hours for travelling?


My guys get paid extra, if they drive to and/or from site, in addition to their standard day but they all get paid the same rate hourly rate for driving.
Although we only travel long distances for commercial clients and they are very rarely day rate jobs, so if they finish the work to client satisfaction they can leave early.

Surely working hours only applies to those whom drive as their main job. Cant see how its different from driving a 3.5t to site then back after work. Driving is not main occupation.
