Hmmm, don't always believe what you read in the press...what's the old adage about not letting the truth get in the way of a good story

 

Of course it might be accurate.

I'd say it's subjective to the tree and circumstances, I don't see any pictures so it's hard to judge. The witnesses said it's dead, but from what I can see it looks alive.

I'd say the likelihood of that story being even remotely accurate are, well...remote.

That was my first thought.

 

Aaron Stamp, 24, was one of the unlucky motorists. He had parked his BMW under the tree while visiting his girlfriend, Hannah Stebbings, 23

 

They don't give the genus of tree or it's age though like, the oak, 85, suffered unexplained damage and could have fallen on a child or a person (what's the difference ?)

These things do happen for no apparent reason, there are some healthy Plane trees on High street here and a couple of weeks ago the top 10 feet of one in the middle of the clump snapped off during the night bringing down branches on a couple of the others.
