Job from earlier this week. Took me and Dave all day. Shrubs and sprinklers underneath. The big fir behind lent a hand. Use HD setting

You're a smooth operator . Great to see you're posting more videos again , they are a great learning source for us mortals.

Why were you using hearing protection with a electric chainsaw or was it just habit.

Great video reg, nice to have a high tie in, interesting to see your static redirect, I guess it means you aren't pulled about as the the rigging goes tight?

I'm trying to learn more about redirects.

and great to see you using battery saws, they are my favourite tool and very underrated.

Thanks for taking the time to share, Reg. interesting rigging system. Did you have to pre-tension the system before every piece?

Great job. [emoji106]

Thanks

The battery saw is still a bit piercing to the ears.

I prefer static redirects, yes. You can set just the right amount of support between anchors.

Yes Timon, we cinched up every log prior to cutting

I'm presuming the owner didn't want you to disturb her flowerbed!!!.. why not dig the plants up, then drop the tree whole, buckinbillystyle?..

They were a bit more than just plants....with sprinkler systems. I weighed up jumping the whole lot by falling it at about 20 ft from the ground. With such a head lean, that would've been the optimum height to attempt that cut and land it flat on the road. But, it wouldn't have made it past the leaning arbutus, without smashing some branches. A protected tree. So, I scrapped that idea.
