I have some beech available, approx 400-500mm in diameter and in 3m lengths if anyone's interested pm me.

 

North East Scotland

 

I'd be extremely surprised if you get any interest. It's a damned shame, but no one wants beech. If ever I take it, it's usually oversized and I rarely ever pay for it.

Do you know why? Down here it's seen as the king of firewood; clients often want to keep it for that reason.

Quick question,I want to mill a large beech tree what failed in storm Doris to use as work tops in my barn conversion, would it be suitable? Thanks Simon.

Beech is great for worktops. A top choice. Depending on your sink arrangements,i would consider a small piece of stone or concrete around it though. Will make it alot less agro in the long term.
