Got a nice willow/ivy repollard coming up soon Liam, might save it for Joe, broaden his experience.

 

I would to be honest, He doesnt get enough "real" work :lol:

i love beech to take down - spikes stick well and cuts work but hate chipping it on a cold day its too whippy! oak is great to cut but can be a pain to chip. gum is great to spike but so heavy to rig! would probly say horse chestnut a favourite for reduction or takedown and of course i dont enjoy anything with ivy involved or worse - dead ivy

ooooh..its a hard one.

 

Either Euc / Beech / Birch.

 

Limes are very easy to work with..silky cuts through them like butter and wood it very light...but do so many of them in Glasgow i am now bored of climbing them.

 

Yeah got to be eucs.

Probably lime since its nice and light, therefore really easy to cut chuck and chog, and nice sharp saw absolutely flies through it and it grips well when directional felling stuff out.

 

Other than that Japanese maple's :sneaky2:

Real good to chip as well!!

 

It seems to sort of polish the inside of the hopper!! :001_smile:
