Sappie  - although head and tip profile, along with length of the handle can make a massive difference in how they perform.

Yea . Got the Woodchuck pickaroon but I recon the beak is not long enough .

Hi I have bothe stihl and husquavarna tongs small stihl ones and the bigger (28cm) I think husky ones these big ones I would not be with out they save so much back bending and when timber is wet they still get hold pick rounds up and drag lengths about just a e,tension to your arm but with a better grip.

Husky tongs are about the best out there loads of others but husky i find by far the best not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, had stihl and 1 or 2 other makes which dont compare to the husky ones,

Never used a sappie, but tongs I find indispensable. Was like going from a push-bike to a Ferrari after years of hand-lugging logs. With a tong, you can get such a strong lock on the end of a long branch, can drag it through undergrowth, with a pair of tongs, you can pick up and throw big branches, lift rounds you would normally be physically unable to lift, two guys can lug serious timber. Even just getting a grip on things cab be tough sometimes, when there's no stubs to grab, the tongs will bite....

Update - I bought a standard long wooden handled sappie. Best thing ever. Gotta have the tongs as well though. Great combo...

Husky tongs are bigger than Stihl which I find to be annoyingly just a wee bit small but Oregon do them just a tad bigger than the Huskys and with better more comfortable grips this makes all the difference, I've got all three and the quality of each is about the same.
