Job prospects and grief from the wife!

God help me my sanity is getting pushed to the limit!

My current career is virtually dead in the water, so I've joined here and I've made enquiries for a New career as groundsman/ Tree surgeon.

My bank won't give me a loan, as my business is not very healthy, glad I don't owe any money, second my wife says will you get a job after all the training?

Wife says you need a good wage and you need to get experience, pointed out to her you only get experience starting at the bottom and over period of time you gain the experience.

She moaning again why are you selling all your bits and pieces and your rifles? Well you think if u can't get a loan it bloody obvious why I am selling all my much loved guns, my collection of watches and some of my traps used over the years in pest control and anything else to raise the fees.

It's a good job there's no bridges around me I'd be tempted !

Right had my moan time to get my list together .

You won't be the first or the last to say this .... I did exactly the same..came out of a Divorce , CSA payments etc etc and I sold all my beloved toys to buy my gear to setup .

It takes time , for me nearly 2 years before I could pack driving a Wagon at weekends to make ends meet .

They still moan when the goings good !

Your Missus is only afraid of an uncertain future which is understandable, especially if you have been through some dark times. I wish you both every success and wish you both the fortitude to go onwards together as a team. Feel free to unload in here!

Hi Nikk

Hope things work out for you bud. Been there a few times over the years work wise i think one of main reasons is men who have worked for 30 years and still find themselves struggling to make ends meet etc start to lose the drive and get up and go sometimes its bloody hard to keep picking yourself up and ploughing on.

Anyway regarding the rifles ive a couple of slots on my FAC im patiently waiting to fill and am also after some decent glass, What you parting with and prices please, PM me if you dont want to put it on here,

Cheers

Dave

If everyone gave up when there were 52. There be a lot gaps to fill in! Personally I am looking forward to do the various cards ! And qualifying. I won't be running off to start up myself . Not that's if you want to do that then get on and try it, if you don't you be wondering should I have tried it? I intend to work for a company, I do my fare share of graft! It's either a tree surgeon or porn star ! No only kidding as a porn star, I have always wanted to have a go, I am getting a reasonably pay out for a crash and I've decided to have a go. Never a bad thing having a few irons in the fire!

The very best of luck Nikk, nothing ventured nothing gained.

I wasn't trying to pee on your bonfire Nikk, just being realistic.

As long as you're not planning on being purely a production climber, but rather combining basic climbing skills with a broader skills base, maturity and grit you should be ok.
