My first thought was 'what a waste of four good axes', but I'd nevertheless like to know how they were secured.

I like the look of slabs of wood with wild grain, but don't fancy clearing crumbs, spilled drinks and other gunk out of the crevices.

I bet they used some sort of resin glue , Eli Chem make this amazing stuff I glued a portland stone carvinginto an oak frame and it was about 1x2 feet and heavy its been up on the wall for months and months .

Looks more like a piece of installation art than a coffee table....

 

Be no good for me, I'd drive me crazy looking at that, and not being able to wrench those axes from the table top.....
