how can they know for sure they've been poisoned? the supposed poisoning was reported in Dec 2016 so the 'arboricultural experts' haven't been able to assess the trees when in leaf yet. Also what does poisoning look like on mature Lime when not in leaf?

 

If it was Glyphosate you'd see the dead grass but you'd need hundreds of gallons to kill mature trees, even then it might not work due to rain flushing it away.

Do not under estimate the power of the Monsanto death juice and don't assume it was a spray application which would indeed leave other greenery affected.

 

Standard procedure for killing a stump is to drill and apply the agent directly. Eco plugs spring to mind but you can get the same effect by old school drilling a hole and pouring the agent in directly.

 

As for quantity, you don't need much more than a few CC's of concentrate and a single application usually does the job, I have poisoned many stumps over the last couple of decades and never had to go back to one yet.

Holes drilled are also a good indicator of something malicious which may be what they are basing it on but lets not forget that this is a news paper report.
